Terms and Conditions

For only 5 % of the charter price without any extra policy costs. In case of sickness or other calamity, Maran Yachtcharter takes care of the handling.

The policy covers cancellation because of:

Serious illness, accident, or the death of:

1. The charterer, the contracting party
2. Blood relatives, or relatives in the 1st or 2nd degree, or members of the household of the charterer / contracting party.

• An ascertained pregnancy or related complications that can be proven by a doctor's certificate.
• When the contracting party has experienced such damage to property, residence, or business, that his/her presence is required there.
• Involuntary unemployment, of no fault of the charterer, yet only if the date of termination precedes the start of the charter period.
• Obtaining a job for at least 20 hours per week, insofar the start date of the employment is within 4 weeks before or during the charter period.
• This only applies after unemployment during which a benefit was received.
• Such disruptions of the marriage in which divorce proceedings have been started after making reservations for the ship. This also applies to the dissolution of a notarized cohabitation agreement.

The policy also covers the number of travel days that were not consumed because of:

• The prorated damages in the event of unforeseen hospital admission of charterer or one of the passengers.
• The prorated damages in the event that it is not medically justified to pursue the sailing vacation.
• The prorated damages in the event of serious illness, accident, or death of blood relatives, or relatives in the 1st or 2nd degree.
• When the contracting party has experienced such damage to property, residence, or business, that his/her presence is required there.

The policy does not cover:

Cancellation because of

1. War
2. Consequences of nuclear reactions
3. Terrorist attacks
4. A preexistent illness, disease, or disability of charterer, his/her family members in the 1st or 2nd degree.
5. If the charterer / contracting party provides incorrect information and / or misrepresents matters.

Group Cancellation (more than 6 people) is NOT POSSIBLE.

Term of Coverage:

The cancellation coverage starts from the moment that payment has been satisfied and lasts until and including the end date of the sailing vacation.

How to proceed in the event of cancellation:

Following an event due to which the sailing vacation is (possibly) cancelled, the charterer/contracting party has to report this immediately, but ultimately within 3 business days. This in writing to Maran Yachtcharter. This written notification has to be accompanied by original documentary evidence and/or a medical certificate.
